April 8th, 2019 – Fuchs North America, a leading maker of seasonings, flavor systems and taste solutions for the food manufacturing, retail and foodservice industries, introduces the Middle Eastern Collection – a new line of authentic Middle Eastern flavors, inspired by the region’s vibrant and flavorful cuisine. The collection’s 4 craveable seasonings bring the flavors of the Middle East to life in a variety of applications.
Among the collection’s offerings are seasonings and blends for proteins, bakery, sauces and hummus. These items are also the starting point for food manufacturers and foodservice establishments to develop their own unique signature product offerings, with Fuchs’ culinary specialists at their side.
The New Collection
Our new Middle Eastern Collection includes the following 4 seasoning blends:
- Israeli Style Za’atar Spice Blend
- Marrakesh Style Meat Seasoning
- Middle Eastern Sesame & Spice Bread Seasoning
- Yemeni Style Zhug Seasoning
In introducing the collection, Shannon Cushen, Fuchs’ director of marketing, explained the strategy behind the collection. “Among the trendiest of trending ethnic cuisines, there’s Middle Eastern cuisine, which shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon. It is exotic, flavorful, and delivers the complex spiciness that consumers have been craving,” she observes.
“Our newest collection offers addictive and innovative seasonings that stay true to the flavors of the Middle East,” Cushen adds.
Fuchs helps food companies make sense of the trends and tap into where the culinary energy is strongest. In this spirit, each of the items that make up Fuchs’ Middle Eastern Collection features authentic flavors that will appeal to young consumers’ desire for more global offerings.
Shareable Sauce Seasoning
Elizabeth Landry, CEC, Fuchs’ corporate executive chef, worked to develop blends that deliver on authenticity and will keep consumers coming back for more, like our Yemeni Style Zhug Seasoning. “This seasoning is an addicting blend of savory spices and vibrant herbal notes that packs just the right amount of heat,” Lindemer describes of the versatile sauce, which can be used to create a dip or marinade for seafood, vegetables or chicken.
Mouthwatering Bread Seasoning
Our Middle Eastern Sesame & Spice Bread Seasoning offers an all-day eating experience – consumers will love it for breakfast, a snack, or even dessert. An ethnic twist on classic cinnamon rolls, this seasoning combines rich toasted sesame with fragrant orange and sweet aromatics for bread that can be enjoyed anytime, anywhere.
Versatile Spice Blend
There’s just about nothing that our Israeli Style Za’atar Spice Blend can’t season to perfection. This vibrant blend of herbs, spices, sesame seeds, salt, and bright citrus notes is the perfect finishing touch for just about anything. “You can use Za’atar sprinkled over hummus, eggs, roasted vegetables, or Greek yogurt for a quick blast of flavor. For a simply delicious snack, try it stirred into olive oil and serve with flatbreads. And it works wonders as a dry rub on chicken or other proteins. The options are endless!” Lindemer explains.
Palatable Protein Seasoning
Proteins have met their match with our Marrakesh Style Meat Seasoning, an intoxicating mixture of savory and sweet spices, aromatic garlic with hints of orange and honey. From ground lamb and chicken to seafood and beef, this seasoning is as versatile as it is delicious.
Custom Solutions, Too
According to Ken Wuestenfeld, vice president of sales and technical services, the strategy behind all of Fuchs’ offerings like the Middle Eastern Collection is to help food manufacturers and foodservice establishments create irresistible new items that build on culinary traditions, but that are also unique.
As Wuestenfeld explained, the development process is a combination of science and art. “We stay on top of consumer taste trends. Our goal is to help food companies develop new taste sensations that they can call their own – offerings that are unique and stand out.”
With each customer, Fuchs North America goes from conception to manufacturing to delivery of an approved flavor as quickly as possible. “We have a wide range of flavor bases at the ready, and, as a result, we can provide samples for immediate testing. Then we customize and refine the flavor to attain exactly the taste characteristics our customer is seeking,” Wuestenfeld reports.
Doing so means that taking a food or flavor idea from concept to delivery can often be accomplished in a matter of weeks or even less time. “Especially when under tight product development timeframes, being able to support customers with that kind of rapid schedule is a huge benefit,” Wuestenfeld emphasized.
