A Q&A with Justin Silvia, Purchasing Manager

As the year comes to a close, Fuchs North America will be saying farewell to longtime employee and Purchasing Manager, Joe Fuchs as he enters retirement. He’ll be passing on the baton to Justin Silvia, who joined the company in September. Justin comes to us with a wealth of professional experience in various operational roles that include the food & beverage, defense, and energy sectors.  Justin currently lives in Towson with his wife, three children, and black lab mix dog. Read below to get to know him a little bit better.

Q: Tell us about your background.

I am an undergraduate alumnus of the College of the Holy Cross, where I studied economics. I also hold an MBA from the University of Massachusetts and a graduate certificate in applied statistics from Penn State University. I’ve previously worked as a Continuous Improvement Manager and Business Process Analyst for a range of industries including food and beverage, defense, and energy.

Q: What are you looking forward to most about your role at Fuchs?

In my new role, I am excited to get back into the food industry and build relationships with the Fuchs North America team and supplier base to support customer goals.  I plan on leveraging my continuous improvement background to optimize the team’s purchasing processes and capture improved cost, quality, and on-time customer delivery.

Q: Any hobbies?

I am an active outdoors enthusiast, and I enjoy playing, watching and coaching various sports.
