Charred Tomatillo and Avocado Salsa

Ingredients:

  • 2lbs. washed tomatillos with skins removed
  • 1 medium sweet onion cut into quarters with skin and stem removed
  • 1 ripe peeled and deseeded Avocado
  • 2TBSP Fresh Lime Juice
  • 2TBSP Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 2TBSP Fuchs Tomatillo and Avocado Salsa Seasoning

Steps:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400*F
  2. Preheat a large skillet or pan over medium high heat.
  3. Place 1Tbsp of olive oil in the hot pan and roast tomatillos and onions until they start to brown.
  4. Move the pan around so they tomatillos do not burn.
  5. Place pan in the oven and cook for 15 minutes or until browned and fully cooked.
  6. In a blender place cooked tomatillos and onions with the lime juice and olive oil.  Blend until smooth, about 20 seconds.
  7. Add Avocado and seasoning and blend until smooth.
  8. Serve warm with your favorite chips or as a sauce to your favorite Tex-Mex dish.
