Homemade Hummus

Ingredients

  • 1 can chickpeas
  • 1 large lemon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 1 small garlic clove, minced
  • 2 TBSP extra-virgin olive oil
  • 3-4 TBSP water
  • 2-3 tsp Harissa Seasoning or Za’atar Seasoning

Steps

  1. In a food processor combine Tahini and Lemon Juice and mix for 1 minute.
  2. Scrape sides and bottom of the bowl and process for another minute to whip the tahini into a cream
  3. Add the olive oil and garlic clove and process for 30-45 seconds.
  4. Open and drain the chickpeas through a strainer then add to the food processor and blend for 1 minute
  5. Scrape the sides and blend for another 1-2 minutes making sure the mixture is smooth.
  6. Add a little water 1TBSP at a time getting to desired consistency.
  7. Remove and add to a bowl or serving vessel of your choice.
  8. Top with either the Harissa or Za’atar and serve with pita chips.
