Meet Our Newest Team Members!

This week, we’re putting the spotlight on two of our newest team members! Keep reading to get to know them.

Shara Birchfield, Director of Operations

Q: Tell us about yourself

A: After growing up on a farm in south central Virginia, I graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering. Since then, I have gained nearly 15 years of food manufacturing experience. At home I have two dogs, Isabel and Fred, who keep me entertained. Outside of work, I mix audio on Sundays for the live band at my church, while also serving there as a high school group leader and teacher. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, listening to podcasts, riding my bike, or playing Fallout on the Xbox.

Q: What is your favorite part of your role here at Fuchs so far?

A: The generosity of everyone offering their time and knowledge has been incredible. I’ve certainly been slowing people down with all my questions, but I have learned so much from that time. I’ve been delighted with the willingness of folks to share so freely.

Q: What are you most looking forward to about your role here?
A: I’m excited to get involved in an environment where I can interact with broader areas that impact the operations floor and recognize how they work together toward the company results.

Q: What food trends are you most excited about in 2021?

A: I can’t say I really keep up with food trends, but I’m definitely one to try a new flavor when I see it hit the shelves.

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: Hard to say, but I must try French Toast everywhere I find it.

Q: Is there anything else you would like our customers and fellow employees to know about you?

A: If we haven’t met yet, please stop by and say hello!

Jamie Bowman, Customer Service

Q: Tell us about yourself

A: I am a homegrown local from Hampstead, which is where I still live. Before I started at Fuchs, I worked at AT&T in Sales. I have a 14-month-old daughter, Ariella, who is my pride and joy. I also am an avid Baltimore Ravens fan and a Disney junkie.

Q: What is your favorite part of your role here at Fuchs so far?

A: I have loved seeing how customer service is intertwined with other departments and how we all work together as a team to complete a task. We all have a hand in satisfying the customers’ needs. Everyone has been so welcoming!

Q: What are you most looking forward to about your role here?

A: I’m looking forward to getting to know my customers, growing, and making a difference!

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: Steamed Crabs!

Q: Is there anything else you would like our customers and fellow employees to know about you?

A: I am a very picky eater, but love cooking and experimenting with new flavors. Good thing my daughter likes to eat!
