Fuchs North America Expands R&D Team & Sensory Capabilities

Annette Hottenstein joins Fuchs North America’s R&D team as a sensory scientist, based out of our headquarters in Hampstead, Maryland. Annette brings over 20 years of experience in sensory science, having worked for various food and ingredient manufacturers, as well as in private consulting. Annette’s addition to the team comes as Fuchs continues to expand our sensory capabilities and innovation efforts. 

Before joining Fuchs, Annette held positions in leading food companies, including PepsiCo. In addition to being a sensory scientist, she is also a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). Annette holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition from The Pennsylvania State University and an Master’s of Science in Food Science from Texas A&M University. Her expertise in sensory testing will be an asset to our team and our customers, as she supports them in their product development efforts. 

Annette’s responsibilities include managing our new sensory lab, conducting sensory testing for our customers, and training our sensory panel. Additionally, she will serve as a resource to our quality and product development teams, in order to ensure that our products create memorable sensory experiences and deliver the same great taste, the first time and every time.  

Being at the forefront of flavor means creating seasoning blends that hit all the right notes and offer out-of-this-world sensory experiences. With Annette’s addition to the team, Fuchs is continuing to invest in our growing sensory capabilities, allowing for increased capacity for sensory testing and support for our customers. Annette is looking forward to growing our sensory capabilities, as well as ensuring that our sensory program is ahead-of-the-curve when it comes to sensory testing trends.
